Poverty is on the rise in France (November 2016, France) according to a shock new report published by French charity the Secours Catholique on Thursday. In 2015 there were 608,500 families or individuals living in difficulty, marking an increase of 2.7% since year before.

Around 9 million people - including 3 million children – are living below the poverty line. And despite what some may believe, this isn’t due to increasing number of migrants in France, but because the situation of this category of people is becoming increasingly fragile.
