Rewilding our Planet (2019 Portugal) We are a group of young residents who found, and built, our homes in the Pinhal Interior region of Central Portugal. We came here from all corners of Portugal, Europe and have even crossed oceans to inhabit the abandoned farms, revive the neglected fields and reforest the depleted mountain slopes. We left our privileged city lives behind because in a world that is currently so out of balance, that comfort zone didn’t feel right to us any longer.

We believe that local communities can implement new business models based on 4 Returns: Return on Finance, Return on Nature, Return on Social Capital and Return on Inspiration. Our aim is to present a pilot project that focuses on local cultural and natural heritage and especially the abundance of non-timber forest produce. A small economic hub consisting of an education center, research farm, food lab, accommodation and meeting/work place that's open to the public should eventually provide in revenue to maintain the the natural native forest and landscape reserves for wildlife to thrive. – Lynn Mylou

   • One of the aims is to stop corporations to capture more land. Stop them from cultivating Eucalyptus. The effort is to buy or get agreement from small land owners to cultivate native trees around corporate land. Also to create “Fire Resistant and Water Detention Landscaping”.
   • 20,000 tree seedlings will be planted In November and December. The seedling are donated from different sources both locally and foreign. Volunteers are welcome to join.
