Introduction of Gurukula

In ancient times, Gurukulas were educational institutions where moral and spiritual education was imparted to students in addition to the mundane knowledge. Today, Ananda Marga Gurukula is the revival of that ancient tradition – offering a blending of occidental analytical approach and oriental synthetic subjective knowledge.

Aims of Gurukula

Aims of our Ananda Marga Gurukula – To serve humanity with Neo-Humanistic spirit and to acquire knowledge for that purpose.

Functions

The name Ananda Marga Gurukula is replacing what was known as Ananda Marga Board of Education (AMBE).

AMGK is composed of Cakradhuri, the steering body, and Mahasamiti, the faculty senate.

Cakradhuri (AMGK Steering Body)

Kulapati (Chancellor) 2. UpaKulapati (Vice-Chancellor) 3. Mahasachiv (Register) 4. Karyalaya Sachiv (Office Secretary) 5. Varga Pratinidhi (Academic controllers)

• PROUT, Neo-Humanism, RU and Liaison on concerning subjects
• Farming and other sciences, engineering subjects and Liaison on concerning subjects
• General Supervision and General Liaison
• Different Branches of humanities and Liaison on concerning subjects
• Music, fine arts, socio-economic problems and occupation and liaison on concerning subjects (qualification for Cakradhuri: Supervising capacity and knowledge)

Attached to Cakradhuri of AMGK is a central Planning and Budgeting Committee composed of an Operational Committee of Funding and Development (FDC), Physical Development Committee (PDC) and an Academic Development Committee (ACD).

Mahasamiti (Faculty Senate)

• Under every Vidya Pratinidhi there will be a Sahayaka Parsada (governing body of the faculty) and the head (dean) of the faculty will be called Upadhyaya. The members of the Sahayaka Parsada will be called Vidyavivek.
• Sahayaka Parsad will be nominated by Vidya Pratinidhi, Recommended by Sachiv, Mahasachiv, Kulapati and finally approved by HA.Vidya Pratinidhi will submit as many names of qualified persons as possible. If no person from the proposed panel is approved by Sachiv, HA etc, then the concerning Vidya Pratinidhi will be asked to submit other names. The non-recommending authorities or non-sanctioning authorities may, if they do desire, bring some fresh names to the notice of Vidya Pratinidhi.
• Except being incapacitated owing to death, chronic disease or long suffering, inefficiency etc each member of the Cakradhuri, Vidya Pratinidhi, Sahayaka Parsad, Mahasamiti will remain in the concerning post for five years.
• Mahasachiv, on behalf of the Cakradhuri, will look upon everything with a tiger’s eye. Sachiv of Mahasamiti will look upon everything with helping attitude but strictness. Mahasachiv may take disciplinary actions, issue instructions or suggest demotions of concerning persons if the standard of Vidya Pratinidhis is not satisfactory or if it becomes evident that he/she is not able to discharge the duties with speed etc. He/she may be recommended for removal.
