Hungary: working with Roma villagers
Working with Roma villagers ( Hungary - WWD) Dregelypalank has 1400 inhabitants; out of them approximately 400 Roma. Most of them live at the outskirts of the village. Unemplyment, poor nutrition, lack of education and poor housing condition are characteristic. Our project is trageting the disadvataged Roma children and their families.
- Providing basic necessities such as food, clothing, and fire wood
- Assisting primary school students e.g. preparing them with make-up exams in order to enter next grade
- Strengthening own cultural roots to reconnect with an encouraging Roma identity
